TDT is a group of people who share a passion to see the Teso region developed, and the Iteso people reaching their full potential. At the Annual General Meeting, an Executive Committee is appointed who is responsible for deciding how donations are spent, ensuring the charity is running smoothly and thinking about how TDT’s objectives can be fulfilled effectively. They meet about 4 times a year.
The committee includes a chairman, treasurer and secretary, who also act as Trustees. These people have the additional responsibilities of ensuring that TDT meets all the requirements laid down by the Charity Commission in England and Wales
TDT’s everyday operations, such as keeping financial records, communications and publicity, are managed by the Administrator. This is the only paid position in TDT. The hours needed and the salary being paid is reviewed regularly by the Trustees to ensure best use of the funds.
The work of TDT is monitored by the Charity Commission in England and Wales to ensure it meets the legal requirements of a charity. Each year the Executive Committee submits an Annual Report to the Charity Commission, outlining how TDT has met it’s legal requirements and fulfilled its’ objectives. This report also includes information about the income and expenditure of TDT, and a certificate showing that the accounts have been examined by an independent examiner / accountant.
